I commissioned an illustarator from Fiverr. There are so many illustrators to choose from all over the world! After selecting the last 3 illustrators to choose from, it was Jasmine Bailey from New Zealand that I had a strong intuitive leaning towards and I am so happy to say that she didn't let me down. She did a remarkable job with a very hard to put into words 'spiritual' brief. She went above and beyond her call of duty!
She can be found here:
The illustrations arrived this week. I found it so exciting to see my words become images. This image above is the border around my text. I was given 2 samples and this was the one I was immediately drawn to. So much better than the sample I drew for her!
I have taught myself to use Adobe InDesign. I found that degree in Performance and Multimedia really start to kick in. I am still inspired, obsessed and motivated to have this book complete.
I have been working all week on editing my CSV files so my online store will communicate to my point of sale. I was really stabbing in the dark. I can't really remember the programing side of my Multimedia degree. Luckily for me my son Joshua does programing for a living. He will be taking a look for me over the weekend. Thanks darling. I was hoping to have the online shop up and running by now but at this stage the online shop and my book are running side by side very equally. I wonder which one will be ready first?
Yesterday and today I contacted Steiner bookshops around the world requesting a book review and to be able to sell my soon to be published book with them. Now I wait.
My other son Beau and his partner Kat went to a baby expo earlier this month and informed me that they will go again in October 2022. That's when I thought that I could set up a stall there with my brand new book and some other relevant items to sell. I want to get t-shirts with the illustrations printed on them in matching family sets. I hope my leg is fully healed by then.
I have been doing a lot more walking with the use of crutches but still feel I have a long way to go there. At least my mind is full and overflowing with creative ideas.
Until next week.
